This poster came up again on Facebook, in error, last week. I had gone to the Red House to take photos of my entry, a tree-vase, on Thurs. March 10. That morning the decision was made to cancel the Friday reception. I don't remember if I wore my mask on that outing. I had started wearing it to the laundromat, I remember. But it was before anyone was closed, before we were staying in place (though I think I used the term SIP). Here's the post I shared on the 13th of March.
I thought around the next week, that all my other pottery and sculpture would also not be sold while everything is closed due to the virus pandemic. Fortunately I had a good show and a check from those sales just last month. And since retirement I've been living off Social Security, and savings. I'll get by. I just need to remember, when this is all over, to go see the dusty conditions at the Depot, the Cutting Crew, the office at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts, as well as the Red House Gallery.
Artists are really left out there without any sales, and many of them don't qualify for small business help. I urge all my friends to purchase art when this is all over!
Today's Quote:
Really great potters create a world into which you want to walk. They accurately communicate a feeling that words lack the ability to convey. Heck, if we had the words, we wouldn't need the art. We need the art. John Bauman, potter
Hello, I hope the pottery shows will be successful in the future. I am glad you are doing ok. Take care! Enjoy your day, have a great new week!
