Early Fall views

The mums are next to one of my donated basil plants.  I just harvested 6 of the larger ones to give away.

Tailgate Market in Black Market keeps on until the end of Oct.

My favorite place to purchase fresh caught and trucked in from the Outer Banks...brain food!

The Lavender still is lovely in front of Lake Tomahawk on a cloudy day.

For some strange goose reason, these Canada Geese decide to take off while some others keep foraging in the grass.  I love how they talk to each other as they fly over my rooftop in the early or late hours of the day, saying probably "Drakie, you should have taken a left back at that tree, not a right, you never ask for directions!"

Black Mountain has had frost so...

Great color downtown by the bank
Gardenia bush is now inside, as well as geraniums out of reach of cat

Pretty begonia

Mum is also poisonous to cats

Purple shamrock just keeps on keeping on
Poor little philodendron is another cat no-no
 African violet is finally blooming
The succulent planter with Kalanchoes and Aloe Vera is on the kitchen counter, where (so far) no cats are allowed.
I just forgot to take a picture of it.

Quote for today.

Just a nip in the air

The nights are chilly, yet it's still in mid 70's in the bright sunny daytime.

A nice fresh nut of some kind.  I was glad to get a chance to photograph this before a squirrel carried it back up the tree, as happened just before I took this picture with another nut.  What kind, you ask?
I'll let someone else who knows tell us...in comments hopefully.

The dogwood has turned, looking beyond my mailbox up Alexander Hill.

I received good news yesterday, which will mean keeping even more busy in the weeks to come.  And that means that though I read my blogs, I might miss commenting, or even posting on some days coming up.
