Some small vases, just right for intimate dinner tables...well these are doing well, I think. (5 inches high, 4.5 inches across.)
A pitcher shape without a handle. But if you wish to pick it up, the little knobs of the black centers will help you hold easily onto this Black Eyed Susan pitcher!
A simple vase form with those little beads of black centers on the Susans.
Each of these new forms just came out of the kiln this week. (I'll need to add them to my page "New Things!)
I'm not currently doing Etsy, just email me if you're interested in either of these, I'm holding these back from the Tailgate Market at this time, but I'd love them to go to their forever home through the net.

Black Matte Glaze
| Another of my small vases formed with torn slabs and coils, but the black glaze kind of hides how it was made! |
| This second black vase only has one red button. And a bit of another glaze was added around the rim, flowing with some misty greys. |

The last archaic design vases
I've finished the archaic design vases. Are they ancient or are they modern? Or both?
Use of an extruder for the base cylinder, then some coils, and some discs...the assembly is not hidden, but just blended with different glazes.
Here are the last of mine for now. I've used my torn-slab technique as well.
A poem:
I know already
It will emerge no chalice.
Cowards will bother,
they will force what isn't there.
They will plead something from nothing.
They will praise their hands.
The Earth is something I repeat,
Dipping hand into water, pressing pedal tenderly.
I wipe my brow like a farmer, returning sweat to the land.
Why are things never enough?
I see the form in the form I'm given.

Pottery
Drawing my hands through the soft, wet flesh of the Earth.I know already
It will emerge no chalice.
Cowards will bother,
they will force what isn't there.
They will plead something from nothing.
They will praise their hands.

Dipping hand into water, pressing pedal tenderly.

I see the form in the form I'm given.

No sale
I count 25 little vases that haven't yet sold. WHAT? These are so reasonably priced, and delicately made, and yet, here they sit. Waiting for someone who wants to slip one into a stocking for Christmas, or give to a loved one with a single rose...where oh where will they go home?
I have not had the whole group at the Tailgate market for a few weeks. There are bigger pots there today...lots of bowls and a few wall hangings.
Thanks for checking in with my blog...so glad to see you here!
