Inside the BMCA clay studio

The open studio in 2013. It hasn't changed much since then! All students can work on their creations at this time, and I'm an Independent Student, so that's my only time in the clay studio. I have attended as such for 12 years until COVID, then I just returned in February of 2024.

Glazing area

Some of the wheels for throwing pottery

An excellent big slab roller in front of the wedging table against the wall.

Charles Freeland is the studio manager, and teaches classes, formulates glazes, sets up gallery exhibits, and monitors the open studio which I attend 3 times a week.

Today's quote:

The Greeks understood the mysterious power of the hidden side of things. They bequeathed to us one of the most beautiful words in our language—the word ‘enthusiasm’—en theos—a god within.

Also see the BMCA signage about the CLay Studio that I posted about HERE in Living in Black Mountain blog.
