Packing those pots

Yep, pricing, inventory listing, and wrapping in bubble wrap in tupperware tubs.  That's the name of my activities for the next 24 hours or so.

I have completed one tub, with 14 pots of various types in it...and they are on the inventory sheet as well.  So I'm taking a break.  (I may not be taking ALL these pots, but this is my first choice batch.

My goal is to have just 3 tubs.  I have to fit them in the car, either the back seat or the trunk.  And I have to GET them to the car.  It's not impossible. Just means carrying them out the door, carrying them down 4 steps, and loading them onto the cart (a little wonderful plastic thing which saves my back with all kinds of carrying help.) Then of course lifting them out of the cart.  I believe I'll try to pack some into the car tonight, then can work on the shelving unit tomorrow!

This wonderful shelving unit comes apart, and I'll reassemble it on top of the table that is provided by the Cleveland County Arts Council in Shelby.

And I have a bowl to donate to the Empty Bowls project there.

It's so wonderful to be included in this show. I'm really looking forward to setting up Thursday and going to the reception. Hope to see some familiar faces!

Packing it up

 I'm taking some pots to a show in a few days.
That means unpacking the tubs which are kind of organized by types.
And doing more pricing and inventory, then packing them into new tubs ready to go.

 Just 37 items, though a few have 3 pieces per listing, because they are small.  Yes, Yoga Cats are going also.  I found people were drawn to them, and then would also look at other things.  I'm fine if I don't sell them.  I will make more if I do, just like everything else.

Decisions, decisions!

There are all these pots.
And all these tubs.
And just a few shows...so which one should go where?

I've got too much to decide.  It just makes my brain burn...sizzle...overload, you know!

So I sit down at computer, look at the list of places I show my pottery.  Try to figure out what should go where.

Let's just start with one thing.  The first place I'll have something for sale.

Well, I did it! I packed one tub for the first show on Dec. 1, the Holly Jolly events on the afternoon/evening...which is such a fun time here in Black Mountain.  Some of our "student work" will remain outside the gallery in the hallway until January for sale.

Then I ran out of price tags, and went out shopping.  Soon I'll have everything tubbed up.  Packed in tubs, I mean.

My 8th great grandfather on my Ada Swasey Rogers family tree.

The following is included in the materials on Ancestry...and his daughter

Martha married Joseph Granger, and many generations of Grangers are cousins of mine!  This resource comes from The Comstalk-Thomas ancestry, and I don't know of any Comstalks in my tree!  So having an ancestor in common means we must be distant cousins.

There are more children listed of the Poors of Essex County, Ma in the early 1600s.
For now I'll leave you with this information.  There are lots more hints (little green leaves attached to people's names that mean something else is available on Ancestry about that person!)
