A juried show

The Red House is having a juried show of the member's works. Each artist can only submit 1 piece, and there are cash prizes for the top artworks. I'm pleased to be part of this exhibit, with the opening reception today 5-7 pm.

And what, you may ask, have I submitted?

Kali, the bust, the goddess, the fierce one!

At the Red House

The Red House art studios and gallery sits back from the road.  Here it is welcoming at  5pm when dusk arrives.  There's an opening of the latest art show...Dimensions.

Climb these steep steps, and open the rather heavy front door..I think there's a handicap entrance at the back door, where many member artists park.

A peak through a window shows a tree with all the ornaments for sale.

A nice wreath on the side wall of the porch.

Photographer Herb Way has his work behind him, behind the curtain...he does have a sense of humor!
Susan Haning (purple outfit) walked back and forth with a cast on one leg, making sure everything was in order for the opening reception.

Early visitors had the best offerings of refreshments.

As you leave, you see the side view of the Monte Vista Hotel, with the downstairs restaurant offering cozy dining on the sunporch.

I'll share more pictures tomorrow!

What's the Buzz?

I'm honored to be part of the Opening at Black Mountain Center for the Arts of the show "What's the Buzz?" from 6-8 this evening. Sept 10, 2015

All the works by artists will feature a bee pollinator of some kind or another.

I sent my teapot, honeypot and 2 tea bowls earlier this week.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the other artists have brought!  There will also be a short presentation about bees.

These precious bee sculptures are hanging in front of the entrance to Black Mountain Center for the Arts!  I love how the wind moves them around as if they are monster bees just waiting for some nectar from giant flowers!
