Last rose

The day I moved to my new apartment I took this, wondering if it would open, and who would enjoy it.

Then my mail didn't get forwarded for the first 2 weeks, so I went by the old cottage to look in the old mailbox, and saw what had happened to the bud!  Incidentally I've had the mail-forward-order at the Post Office since Oct. 3, and have received not one piece of mail forwarded yet (Oct 19.)  When I asked at our post office they said my address is good.  Wonder what is going own with my mail.

The last rose moved into the new apartment.

The rose with a tint of embarrassment for those who see nipple or breast in the thrown pod shape...or just a smile that flowers are, after all, all about sex.  Two pieces, a flat stand with leaves, and the rose with stem.

The same basic thrown pod with added petals, here with variegated colors in impressionistic dabbles. 

Barbara's Critters get glazed

Whether these bisqued critters are chicken, fish, kitten or blue bird, this is how they look before glazing.

All the glaze work is done in Mayco's Stroke and Coat, which matures fine in our cone 6 glaze kilns.

What you've never seen a robin that fat?  How about the blue bird?

 At the same time, I get to walk by these lovely petals that sweep through the room smelling so wonderful.  (This was the rose that was supposed to be yellow)  

My work space is a bit of a clutter, eh?  My magnifying clip-on glasses are at the bottom on the bat next to cat.  I clip them on my close-up glasses and get another 1X magnification.  These old eyes need that.

More glazes will be applied at the BMCA studio tomorrow...like a nice blue for Mr. Fish, and white on the white areas that actually have no glaze at this time.

More pots Meow

Shoot, blogger is now adding photos backwards, which it did several years ago when I first started blogging.

So here goes nothing...  yep this was to be the final picture, and here it is up at the top.  (Actually you may have seen a few of these pics before)

Breakfast was sooo good, and now I must clean off every bit of me!

However, that bird (squirrel?) might need my attention too!

A simple Tea Canister, with a nice fitting cork lid.

I really like these 2 big bowls with the drippy blue glaze inside and out.  Not in any hurry to sell them.

And a vase that was created several weeks ago looks like it might be ancient...

OK this is where I started, with the puss wearing the tiarra.  And I think the blogger problem is just when I try to add captions within the photo.  If I just avoid that function, perhaps I can insert them wherever I wish.  (Incidentally the green stain was actually copper carbonate, and the brown is red iron oxide, covered with some clear glaze).  The next time I tried to get either of these results, the RIO washed out completely.

Facades

Faking it, making you believe it's something it's not...the facades which come to my mind are the buildings which once graced Main Street in many towns across our country.  I started to say "out west" then thought of some of the buildings right in our small southeastern towns.  Yep, we tend to strut fake stuff by making things look bigger, prettier and better than they actually are. Think of the cosmetic industry.

So here are some little facades.

Is it this, or is it that?   Not meant to "strut" at all, but to be humorous or perhaps to touch some memories.
