The rest of the tiny vases - or shot glasses?

I was interested in the 2 yellows which are background to the strange black lines. I won't be using that glaze pen again!

The Jade color looks good on the white clay!

There were a few other tests which I didn't like, so am not bothering to photograph, and actually the little pieces (as well as the glazes) have gone in the trash!

Tiny Vases

Sometimes you just have one beautiful blossom, or maybe a few.  They call for something small, to accent the delicacy.  A glass would do the trick, but after all, you've probably purchased a sweet tiny vase that was hand thrown, bisque fired, glazed and glaze fired, and offered by an artist for your continued enjoyment...don't you?

The tiniest in the front is only $5, and all the rest are $10.
Size from 2" tall to 3-1/2 inches.

I'll have to be making some more of these soon, cause they are also wonderful gifts...tucked along with something else even!

Test glaze vases

Inside and on top, Black Mountain Blue, bottom is Nutmeg glaze

I made some tiny vases off the hump to test my new porcelain clay with our studio vases.

Plum inside and top, bottom is celadon, nice flow where it interacts with plum!

So far so good.

A favorite I've used before, Matt Bronze Green inside and top, raspberry on bottom with nice overlap which turns variegated blacks.

Glad these are not photos to sell these pots, just tests to consider...
This little guy has an s crack in the bottom, oops.

I had to dip the inside and top twice in the White Satin, which was very thin this day...but glory alleluia it didn't pit like it has been doing on Little Loafers clay.

The bottom glaze is Floating, which came out very light on the porcelain alone, but a nice overlap gave it some depth that is interesting, and a bit of flow as well.

So back to the wheel to start making some vases with porcelain (Laguna's 550)  I've also got some B-Mix and Soldance to try...busy little potter me these days!

A carafe and tiny vases

I only had one loss, in an unloading accident, someone was in a hurry.  The carafe was a test of white slip over the stoneward clay, which worked in some ways, and didn't in others.  It gave great luster to the glazes, but obscured the stamp completely.  Perhaps too many layers.
