Workshop with Cathy and oh, Jason too!

My friend Cathy and I went out to Haywood Craft Program for a clay workshop being given by Jason Burnett, from Arrowmont.

The new crafts program at Haywood Community College is wonderful, as are the buildings.

One of Cathy's ceramic pieces is shown by a photo in the hallway still.

She graduated there several years ago.  I'm the proud owner of several of her pieces.

Jason was an excellent speaker, demonstrated how to silk screen patterns in underglaze so they could be applied to pottery.

My biggest surprise was seeing my son, Tai Rogers standing in the middle of the back wearing a red jacket...on Jason's slides.

Pretty sure the tall guy with beard over on right at the back is Tai.

Tai met Jason several years ago, probably at Penland.  Jason gave me a hug when he found out I was Tai's mom, and they both said they are good friends.

Small world the potting community is.
