I was the only person picking up an order which I'd phoned in...at 11:30 am.
I couldn't decide which shot was more interesting...the empty dining room with cook staff having a break with who? or my waiter who wore a mask under his nose, just covering his mouth. Glad I had mine on properly at least.
One of the beautiful decorations in the restaurant.
And the beauty of spring by Flat Creek. The restaurant, Ole's Guacamoles, has tables and chairs set up on its patio for outdoor dining usually.
There's a motel on the other side of the creek, and I've never known anyone to stay there, but it looks nice.
Did I mention there are little treasures all around the restaurant?
Today's quote:

...take out is the new normal.
ReplyDeleteAnd yet I am cautious about raw foods...no more salads for me, thank you, prepared by young folks who may or may not follow mask and glove guidelines. But I am enjoying things that I don't fix for myself at home...especially things that take a lot of prep, like enchiladas!
Deletelolve the little wall decoration at the end, wondering what's behind the doors. My lettuce is growing so slowly, can't wait for a salad. We are only buying fresh food in packages and that can be cooked.
ReplyDeleteI do miss a dinner out on occasion. But we're not doing the 'take-out' either and for just the reason you mentioned... don't know what goes on behind doors as far as caution and coughing is concerned. But we're not much on fast food and don't eat out a lot so it's not really that difficult - grandson does miss it terribly and has ordered delivery once.
ReplyDeleteHello, I heard it is safer to eat outside at a restaurant table than inside. We ordered crab cakes from our favorite restaurant, I just pull the car up and they bring the food to the car. Pretty view of the creek! Take care, enjoy your day and week ahead.
ReplyDeleteBarb, how are you doing in this pandemic season? Springtime is so beautiful in your part of the world - here in eastern Ontario, Canada, we have a very long way to go.
