Tuesday to a museum

This week I want to let everyone know about a show that is currently in The Dallas Museum of Art. It was co-sponsered by the High Museum of Atlanta GA also, where it will be traveling for a display later this year.

I heard about it last week on CBS evening news. The curator of the Dallas Museum said her son had a sensory disability, so she learned how communication was possible without words.

speechless: different by design invites interaction by the viewer with touch, sound, vision, and immersion completely with the artworks.

The catalog says:

speechless: different by design

11/10/19 to 3/22/20 |
Explore the many ways in which we connect to the world around us through our senses in speechless: different by design, an exhibition of multisensory, interactive, and immersive experiences for visitors of all backgrounds and abilities. Created in collaboration with designers, scholars, and scientists, speechless presents unique opportunities for discovering new perspectives through communications beyond speech and words.

Check the link to the show which gives the artists names and more information on their works.

  1. wonderful concept; reminds me of the Arkansas School for the Blind School which has a sunken herb garden, created for folks to enjoy with the senses of touch and smell
