June's over now

Goodbye to sweet Panther, my last cat.  I'm too old, too emotional to do this again. I shared about her extensively HERE

And life kept giving me surprises, like an amaryllis that bloomed this month. I read an interesting blog post about similar plants Here.

The first of these pod-boxes sold this month and are trucking across country to their new owner right now!

And Sepia Saturday gives us this as a prompt photo...

I can't think of any old photos of a marching brass band, though I'm sure Michael will have a great story about one.  I was delighted by another blogger's post (not sepia at all) which included a band HERE, (shared with her permission.)

So my most sepia contribution is that I read blogs, and sometimes comment upon them.  And read others' comments also!  They give information and opinions which are usually delightful.

  1. You show a post does not need to be long to be effective, and I do like that quote.

  2. Many regrets for the loss of your sweet Panther kitty.
Amaryllis have their own bloom cycles. I have one that blooms in August and it’s always a surprise. 😉

    1. Oh my, is it planted outside? I know in Texas and Florida that can happen easily.

  5. I haven't prepared a Sepia post this week (yet, anyway), but wanted to make the "rounds." I read your sweet post about Panther. We recently lost our dear dog Lola and I've been waiting to write about her - unsure that I was ready. Although perhaps best to write when the feelings are still so strongly felt. And it is always a gift to receive surprises.

  6. Thanks Eileen, Mike and Kathy. It's good to hear from others, and know they understand my feelings. A friend who I shared her cat's death a few years ago, called and asked if I was speaking to Panther. I needed to be reminded that sending the thoughts and feelings out there allows me to have her presence real again, though in a different place.

  8. Losing a dearly loved pet is very hard. They become your family, your friend, your confidant, your sweet little cuddly one and take a chunk out of your heart and life when they leave - be they a cat, a dog, a bird, or any other sort of pet for that matter. I'm so sorry you lost your little love. I'm glad you included the borrowed band picture. There's something kind of special about bands playing in a bandstand! :)
