Chapter four, Dillsboro

Here are the last of all my Dillsboro photos....well, the ones in focus.

Nothing to do with pottery, but I love seeing old building's construction

Only the half hour wait, nice barbecue was waiting for us inside. We were sorry that Jaret House restaurant was closed.

No, Boots Steakhouse didn't have anything inside at all, and all these folks had just arrived by train and were hungry!  About 35 had signed up for a meal in a reserved dining room - out of over 200 passengers! I felt so bad for the parents with hungry children and no place to eat!

After lunch, back to see the rest of the pottery! Passed by this sweet old church.

I was interested in the pricing of ornaments.  I think these were $8 each

The shadowbox display makes pottery into art!

I joined this sprawling woman in resting in this shady area after it had become hot and sunny for a while.
Eventually the train left, with an engine leading the way under the bridge, and the caboose being next in line to follow back to Bryson City, with the other engine pushing from the other end. Almost all the coal trains coming through Black Mountain also have 2 engines at one end, and one at the other.  Going through the mountains means changes in elevation, not to mention steep curves.
