Sunday drive in the summertime

There are some Sunday mornings where nature just calls you outside.  Go sit somewhere or walk around and immerse yourself in her incredible beauty.  It's totally free.  It's really close to the idea of a Spirit that is in charge of everything, and it's so arbitrary in whether it's eliciting some really good feelings yet maybe in a day or so it will feel really awful with some catastrophe or another.  Mother Nature is what I call it, or Gaia.

Sign describes how the last buffalo was shot somewhere near here.  Elevation 3483 feet.

Looking north west from Craggy Gardens

Continuing along the Blue Ridge Parkway, I stopped (with a lot of other tourists) at the Craggy Gardens Visitor Center.  The parking lot was full, with cars waiting for spots.

That's I-26 heading north toward Johnson City, TN.

Downstairs is a clean restroom, with flush toilets! This far up on the mountain, it's really nice.  There are more at the picnic grounds, but I didn't go there on this trip.

Looking up at Craggy Gardens today I didn't spot any people right at the edge...perhaps in summer there's too much vegetation.

More of my trip another day.

TODAY'S QUOTE:
The drama in some people's lives can serve as excitement, prompting the body to manufacture adrenaline, producing a pleasurable surge of energy.
