Stress is much lower now

Having a new home.  I know other potters who have moved recently...and hat's off to them.
This move was painful, physically and psychologically.  Muscles just don't do this kind of work any more...and my body complained.  But the biggest surprise was how my mind just went into freeze several times an hour.  Then of course there were a few times when I blew my top without much reason.  Ask my son about that.

After first load, or maybe second, on Friday....you can still see the carpet!

But my wonderful crew all had a major handicap of pouring rain over 99% of the time...and it was cold...unless you were lugging furniture or a few zillion boxes.

I have moved more than most people have in their lives.  At least 25 times.
I'll try to count the places again when I'm falling asleep.

My ancient TV is hooked up to cable again...now if only there's something broadcast I want to watch!

What was I doing now?  I think I've been overwhelmed most by getting up to go get exactly one thing, and being waylaid by about 30 others, and sometimes forgetting completely what I started to do.
But the good news is that I've started the 30 other things, and maybe finished one.
And I keep coping with not knowing where things are packed...so a paper towel was the coffee cone filter this morning.
Set up partially completed.

Just a few golden leaves at early morning sunshine

Quote for today:

One morning, I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got into my pajamas, I’ll never know.

  1. Your new place looks great! I hope that you enjoy your new home when you are settled. Doesn't it seem like that will never happen? Our final push to be out of our studio takes place in the next few days.

  2. It's going to be great. But moving is indeed unsettling both literally and figuratively. It's hard to stay on task when you look around and see fifteen other things equally important.

  3. It's been almost two years since we moved here and I am still looking for things; one of them my clay journals and books; It isn't easy be kind to yourself. I figured the reason you didn't come to visit was because you were moving. Hope you get a chance to come here one of these days.

  4. From your photos it looks like you have moved into a lovely place. How wonderful. I know the pain of moving as I recently moved into a new apartment a month ago. I too had my son to help me -- I just can't lift like I used to do when I was younger. Enjoy your new place -- sounds like you didn't move far from your friends and potting studio. -- barbara
