To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best day and
night to make you everybody else, means to fight the hardest battle which any
human being can fight, and never stop fighting.

What a pretty setting!
ReplyDeleteI think it's like going on a retreat just to spend time up there at Penland.
Deletethat's where I got my pottery wheel when I was living in my motorhome. Ha.
ReplyDeleteWhat a small world it is, in the pottery community at least.
DeleteThe gas kiln is actually Julia 2 the salt/soda kiln that Will Baker built while I was there this past spring. My class had the good fortune of being the first to fire her. I would love to see the results from this firing.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great addition to my post, Lori. I didn't want to interrupt everyone...they seemed so busy. So I saw Susan Fagan and said hi, and she was busy doing something. Didn't even go to the classrooms. Well, it was one of those spontaneous things, so it was ok.
DeleteI had a chance to tour some around my house as well last fall. Very pretty photos, thanks for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a great set up. A pretty place where it is located.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the tour! Such a nifty place!
ReplyDeleteNice photos, Barbara...cool place! And I love the quote!!
ReplyDeleteI really liked your e.e. cumming's quote very much -- I think the battle is to become wiser about oneself as one ages. -- barbara
