Costume artists competition

I was honored to be given a ticket to a fund raising event for Asheville Community Theater last week.

The event included a nice reception with a silent auction of amazing items (which I'm sure brought lots of great donations to the cause).

And then a well produced costume contest between different artists who know their wardrobes.  The categories were

Christmas in July

Winner of Christmas in July on left, and the winning designer modeled the red paper dress directly behind her (winner of nature on right)

My choice for nature was the winged fairy person in the center, with the dragonfly costume my second choice, but not the winner!
Winner of nature is on left, winner of tape in center (that's crocheted video tape she's wearing) and winner of inflatables on right (wearing a dress of latex gloves not inflated)

I'm happy that the designs which won were pretty much who I'd have voted for...well at least 2 out of 4 were!

I was sorry the body painted Lion Fish costume (3rd from left) didn't was sassy!
Quote for today:

Looking forward to hearing from you! Since I didn't know the 1000+ people who supposedly looked at my blog the other day, I'm back to moderating comments. If that doesn't help, I don't know why blogger doesn't have a filter that stops this hacking...
