Saying goodbye and maybe hello

The amaryllis bulb which was saved from last year again started with leaves, but now has a bud on a stalk.

And the bulb on the left has given me 3 stalks with 4 blooms each.  I'm saying goodbye by letting the last 2 withered flowers sit there reminding me of the beauty they gave me.  And on the right that bud just keeps going higher, but not blooming.  I'm beginning to think that bulb is really only good at making leaves, not flowers!

Today's Quote:

The soul is the purest expression of an individual and is not bound by physical forms or fleeting emotions.

  1. Give them time and they will bloom. I have nine bulbs, some of which are blooming, some just sitting. Until recently I thought the bud stalk came fist followed by leaves. Such is not the case. Then there is the one that decided that July was a good bloom time!
I am going to repot all of mine in September. My whistle mentor who grew fabulous amaryllis repotted hers every two years. Meanwhile fert, fert, fert!

  2. I'm sure it will bloom eventually, though goodness knows how high it will be when it does!

  3. All of mine are in my front flower bed and they are still asleep. They usually put on quite a show!

  4. Hello, the amaryllis is a beautiful bloom. I hope you see your in bloom. Lovely plant. Great quote! Happy Monday, enjoy your day and new week!

Looking forward to hearing from you!
