I always think it must have slowed down ever so slowly...maybe the week before, then reached that moment of stop-tilt. But then this is a huge ball of matter (water in those basins of the oceans) with molten magma down inside her...so her tilting one way and then moving to tilt the other, is quite a production. All the while she spins through a cycle of 24 hours on her axis, and flies around her wonderful sun...and there's a sweet little rock of a moon flirting with her through the days as well.
You have to wonder. Yes, have wonder. Be full of the sense of how wonderful this cosmic event is.
Thanks to poets for reminding us. Thanks to artists of depicting some semblance of the connection we all have to nature. All the life we know depends on this amazing planet continuing to do as it's done for time out of time.
It makes me very humble.
Quote for today:
Listen to
your life...touch, taste, smell your way to the holy and hidden heart of it,
because in the last analysis all moments are key moments and life itself is
grace.
