Goddess figures of antiquity
Before there were any male figures created, many societies had female figures in abundance. No kidding.
interesting to learn that females were illustrated well before men, seems to me in many ways women may have been revered for their femaleness more then than now
A human being who can produce another human being -- as if by magic (for prehistoric society that may not have understood the male's role in the whole thing) -- would be goddess-like.
