On the verge of the walkway around Lake Tomahawk yesterday, I spotted these tiny bright blue flowers.
OK, this is the best my iPhone camera could take. When I looked it up under wildflower identification, it's probably Baby Blue-Eyes, which blooms starting in March. The other blue flowers all wait to bloom a bit later. So that's my guess.
I usually share my flower photos over on Living in Black Mountain blog...but hey, my life in clay is affected by the flowers around me too.
It’s so nice to see the flowers starting to bloom. Makes me know that spring is indeed on it’s way.
ReplyDeleteOK, one source of wildflower identification states Speedwells bloom early in NC...so maybe these are they. Depends upon how many petals, and they are just too small for me to tell. But I can always go back and look at them again. Now that's a good idea.
