I think this is the last of my photos from our visit to the James Museum of Western Art in St. Pete, FL.

 I must have seen about half of "the Duke's" movies...which left me with his voice to represent the western hero. (Of course the actor himself had his feet of clay.)

 I was impressed by the movement in this painting.

Some of the pueblo styles of pottery that have been passed down through the generations.

I shared about the Beacon Blanket Factory here in Swannanoa NC last year, and the same incident of the suit by the FCC and the Navahos against the North Carolina company. SEE MY POST HERE.

The history museum in Black Mountain had the display for a whole year about Beacon Blankets, including this site.

The designs were definitely copied from Native American designs. But Beacon had other qualities which were not provided by Navaho blankets.  Beacon had a special soft finishing process, while Navaho blankets were beautiful but more rough in texture.
