Beauty all around

Much later than the native Dogwoods, a Japanese Dogwood is in bloom now.

What a lovely Fuchsia plant!

  1. Beautiful dogwoods and fuchsias! Do you get hummingbirds coming to them?

    1. They are hanging from another building, which I pass when I get my mail. So I haven't taken the time to sit in the rockers and wait to see if hummers come. I know some of my neighbors have feeders for them.

  2. I love fuschia but I have had the worst luck with them. I either haven't had the right location or I get a diseased one that dies in two weeks. :-(
    The Japanese dogwood is lovely.

  3. I was wondering what the tree lines dogwoods were with their dogwoods now I know they are the Japanese. when we lived in the SF bay area as a child we had fuchsia and I remember popping the blossoms, sad I did that but not all of them anyway.

    1. Well, that sounds reasonable for a kid to do. I loved pulling the stamen out of a wild honeysuckle to get the nectar. Now I can't even smell them.
