Laying pipe

It wasn't enough to have raised 3 boys with their Tonka trucks, dump trucks, earth movers and all.  I think in another lifetime I will be a member of some crew which uses the real thing.  I'm fascinated by moving dirt around.  (Ah ha, she says, that's the potter coming out in another way!)

The story goes the rennovated Swannanoa Valley History Museum had to be brought up to code, with a new sprinkler system.  But some new lines had to be laid along where the fire hydrant water line was...so they dug along our parking lot.

I say our parking lot, because the clay studio is the only building which actually faces it.  So while this was happening, we were parking elsewhere, and walking around the construction mess.

It's all done now.  Amazing.  I wish you could have seen the way the machinery drivers swung that bucket and shovel around.  And the most fun was the little remote controlled "steam roller" which was a miniature version, and of course not "steam" any more.

Quote for today:

May you experience each day as a sacred gift woven around the heart of wonder.

  1. I think that blogger ate my first post, so I will try again! It's always fun to watch heavy equipment moving the earth around. I don't think I have ever seen a remote control roller, that must be pretty cool!
