Sharing my pain

Emotional pain.  My entire chest hurts from my crying.
I said good-bye to Muffin today at the veterinarian's office as she died in my arms.

She has been my companion, sleeping with me almost every night, for 18 years.

I cannot think straight, or do anything but minimal activities in between bouts of crying.

I'm so glad I have Panther (or Painter) to cuddle with, and she's a wonderful comic.  I'm sure we will get through this and somehow fill the gap that is left in our lives in the shape of a small cat.

I will carry my love to her with me the rest of my life.

  2. My dear friend, I'm hurting for you! Here are my arms hugging you from all the way across the country. Muffin is sending you her love too. She wants to comfort you so you can remember her with only joy, no pain. She loves you and always will. She's out of pain herself now and running around doing kitty things. She's so happy not to have to suffer the indignities she's had to endure for too long. Now she's well and happy. I love you too and am here for you. Call if you need to, no matter what hour it is, ok?

  5. Barbara, I'm so sorry to hear about Muffin's passing. But she will be in your heart forever... and I sometimes feel that the cats we've lost are still in the house with us... and who knows, maybe they are... in spirit.
