Great day for Art in Autumn show

The geese behind my selfie aren't staying within the painting.  The one of New Orleans had crows...does anyone know the significance of crows and New Orleans?

My friend and neighbor, Sarah Vekasi had a lovely display of her pottery

We enjoyed a wood fired pizza and beer

The main street of Weaverville became two rows of art and crafts...most enjoyable stroll!

Quote for today:

To be astonished is one of the surest ways of not growing old too quickly.

  1. Perhaps the people of New Orleans see the crow as the harbinger of death much like some in our NC mountains. Perhaps it is also a symbol of the dreadful Jim Crow laws of the past. (Obviously I don't really know the answer.)

  2. Well, I'm from New Orleans and I don't know the answer either. I do know that there are a lot of crows on skulls that are found in the french quarter shops... but why exactly, I'm not sure. I've always been fascinated with crows myself. I saw a special on TV once about how intelligent they were... and how they recognize faces.
